The Peg Village Community Installation

What is it? An exhibition of artwork from the young artists of Sherston and the surrounding villages. Every year we also create a ‘Big Art’ project with previous exhibits including the Peg Village and the ‘Sherston Rocks’ Exhibition. This year is very exciting as we will be creating a group installation called ‘Home’. With funding from the Malmesbury Area Board Scrapstore will be coming to the village to help us create a 3D exhibition of houses. We will also be making some recycled bottle top murals as part of this exhibition – which will enjoy a permanent home in the community after the festival.

We want to see the space bursting with even more art and we are inviting every young person in the area to enter a piece of art!

We will show every piece of art and you can use any materials you like – try your hand at painting, collage, drawing or 3D. We welcome entries from anyone who can hold a crayon to 18 years old!

If you need a little inspiration why not create a picture based on ‘Fables and Fairytales’ or ‘Houses and Homes’. Or just enter a favourite artwork, either created at home or school that you would like to show off.

All artwork needs to be brought to either:

Sherston Primary School on Thursday 5th October (just pop it in the Arts Festival Box in reception). Or bring it to the British School Rooms on Friday 6th October between 5pm-6pm.

Please ensure that all pieces have a name, age and school on the back. If you attend a school other than Sherston please pop your address and telephone number on the back and pictures will be returned after the exhibition closes WC: 9th October.

Cost? Free

Tickets? No, just POP in and see our talented young Artists and the fantastical ‘Home’ installation.

It’s free to take part and it’s simply a matter of popping something fun in your window. We produce a free trail which you can pick up during the festival and for one weekend only people take a wander around Sherston and see a different side to our community!
